Congratulations To Patricia Wells!
Alex and I were lucky enough to attend one of the Patricia Wells cooking classes, and it was a great way to learn a ton of new provencal recipes…and guess what? They are now in a great new cookbook!
Here is the official description of the new Patricia Wells cookbook – “The French Kitchen Cookbook”
“With The French Kitchen Cookbook, culinary legend Patricia Wells invites home cooks into her life in France, making the fresh and delicious recipes from her popular classes available to fans who dream of experiencing their own gastronomic adventure in the world’s culinary capital.”
Beautifully designed and lavishly illustrated with stunning color photos, The French Kitchen Cookbook is a compilation and reflection on what she and her students have learned. Patricia Wells’ meticulously written recipes express the basics—the rules that will help anyone become a better cook, while providing the deep satisfaction that comes from creating exquisite food from the freshest ingredients.
Here are some of her best recipes for appetizers, desserts, and everything in between, dishes inspired by the vibrant Provençal countryside and the bustle of Parisian life, including Miniature Onion and Goat Cheese Tatins, Zucchini and Basil Velouté, Fricassée of Chicken with Fennel, Capers, Tomatoes and Sausage, and Apricot Lavender Honey Sorbet.
Cooking With Patricia!
Yep, I had the chance to cook with Patricia for an entire week, and we made a number of these recipes!
The book includes recipes from Patricia’s cooking classes in Paris and Provence – and if you want to know more about singing up for this great classes, here is her website for more information…
As I said, Alex and I went to Provence to cook with Patricia…
We had an amazing time, not only learning to cook a ton of new dishes, but to spend time with Patricia and her husband Walter as well…here is Patricia taking her cooking class through a food market in Chanteduc – talking with Alex:
We harvested on their property, prepped all of the food, and then got to cooking – here is Patricia’s husband Walter giving Alex some advice while she cooks:
After cooking, the entire group gathers on the veranda to eat, drink and enjoy the provencal view!
Patricia was good friends with Julia Child, and Julia gave Patricia her provencal stove – which we actually cooked on as well!
So now, an anecdote from the class: when we signed up, we were asked what we wanted on our aprons. I guess I misunderstood and sent our entire names, so all around us, people wore aprons with their first names…and then, as you can see below, there we are with our full names!
It was good for a laugh, let me tell you! Here is the link to our whole cooking class adventure!
